Title

As you read down the whole poem, the writer is almost describing and comparing her feelings and what she sees as the blue feathers of a bird, which the kingfisher has, in the early stanzas. In the later stanzas, she implies that there is a kingfisher---or in her point of view rather, she sees a beautiful kingfisher flying over the singing waves. So, the title where she asks “is it the kingfisher” is when she turned into a style where she is asking herself whether it is the kingfisher she is feeling. It is also possible that as she thinks of the plot, she thinks to use the kingfisher as the resemblance of the poem. So she wonders that, what she feels is like the kingfisher who is blue in feathers as blue as the sea. She also compares all things to blue in the poem as it makes up or it leads to the image of the kingfisher, the feelings and emotions she had as she told the story included. It then ends up having the question and also the title “Is it the kingfisher” as she wonders if is it as the bird, she feels and see in that moment as she writes the poem.

Imagery

The first few lines of the poem relate how Marjorie Evasco sees through the creation of God; how she appreciates His creations.
In psychology the color blue symbolizes trust peace and and warmth that can bring our body to calming sensation.Marjorie Evasco must have thought that maybe the kingfisher was God. The way it is colored blue and the way gave it her enlightment is a personification.

Setting

The poem's environment was set on a fictional island with a kingfisher perched on it. The poem's title refers to the island's narration, which shows how God created it. The other elements of the poem also exhibited how beautiful the place is. The poem's environment appeared to be surreal. It mentioned salty seas, tropic sky, and mountain gentian, all set on a fictitious island with a kingfisher to boot. The poem is all about embracing God's creation, the setting played a big role because the narrated island symbolizes God's art. The place seems very dreamlike, the island showcases how beautiful the scenery of the place is. The nature, the ocean, the blueness of the setting is enough to tell the readers that God has stunning creations and we should be grateful for the shelter that God provided for us. The narrator’s fondness for God’s art made the poem’s message all the more significant.
